American Therapeutic Corporation’s Supervised Visitation Program refers to contact between a non-custodial parent and one or more children in the presence of a clinician trained to observe the family interaction/dynamic to ensure the safety of those involved.

Both Supervised Visits and Therapeutic Visitations are designed to assure that a child can have safe contact with an absent parent without becoming involved in the parental conflicts or other problems. It is the child's need that is paramount in making any decisions regarding the need for such supervision. It is a tool that can help families as they go through difficult and/or transitional times. In Therapeutic Visitations, a trained therapist is involved in the session/time together. The therapist does not leave the room and is continually assessing for strengths as well as improving weaknesses to build a healthy relationship between the child(ren) and the parent, relatives, or caretakers.
