Feelings are normal human reactions to external and internal events and are experienced in various parts of the body as well as in our minds. Feelings differ by type and by intensity. Children and adolescents almost always experience more than one feeling at a time and many times need assistance in processing these feelings and thoughts.
Feelings provide us with valuable information about the external World, interactions with others, and about our internal state. Feelings might be giving us information that we are emotionally overwrought and in need of support or need to make some change in what we doing. Allow a professional to meet with you and your child to assess any problematic feelings like anger or depression.
