We are happy to report that the behavioral health services routinely being implemented through our facility have been very effective towards establishing appropriate and practical treatment plans and positive outcomes. As experienced and qualified behavioral health professionals, we think it is important to share a much clearer understanding of the breadth and depth of this community’s need for supports. This is especially true of the supports needed for adults, older adults, children, and the chronically mentally ill.
It can come as no surprise that the number of consumers who are in need of some type of treatment for either emotional or behavioral disorders has reached alarming proportions. Sadly these disorders negatively affect their thinking, feeling, and judgment with enormous adverse personal and societal consequence.
On a brighter note, American Therapeutic Corporation has placed itself in a position to provide a wide range of behavioral services, therapeutic educational services and social services to address the needs of these consumers. Nationwide experience confirms that a good mental health service system should be community based, offer a variety of services, and be family centered, i.e. treat the consumer and help all family members cope with their loved one’s challenging behavior.
As an existing service provider, American Therapeutic Corporation is poised to extend services beyond assessment to include crisis intervention, intensive therapeutic outpatient services, diagnostic evaluation, outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization program and family support. As a community based provider, American Therapeutic Corporation provides both individual and group psychosocial rehabilitative services across a variety of settings. Clearly the strategic application of community based services can prevent the need for more restrictive care such as hospitalization and residential housing later.
American Therapeutic Corporation has been providing behavioral health services in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County for over five years. American Therapeutic Corporation philosophy of treatment for all our specialty service programs is based on the assumption that many individuals in need or in crisis can be effectively and safely treated in a less restrictive environment, assuring the safety and welfare of the families, children and adults, by providing a safe and structured environment to facilitate appropriate interaction.

As a Medicare and Medicaid certified Community Mental Health Center American Therapeutic Corporation believes in treating the “whole” person. Interventions are targeted to address and utilize biological factors. This includes ruling out or treating physiological causes for psychiatric symptoms, prescribing and monitoring medication when appropriate, assessing, monitoring, and educating clients about health, nutrition, sleep, and exercise habits and educating patient and families about biological bases of behavior.
As a Community Mental Health Center, the programs of American Therapeutic Corporation provide intensive, therapeutic environments staffed by competent, interdisciplinary mental health professionals. Programs are staffed by psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinical psychologists, and masters and licensed mental health counselors and social workers who collaboratively work to provide treatment to the whole person.
In summary, this Community Mental Health Center utilizes an interdisciplinary treatment team for all populations. American Therapeutic Corporation is designed for clients in crisis or in need and who can benefit from the full spectrum of behavioral health services.
It is the policy of American Therapeutic Corporation to abide by the code of ethics and follow all Standards and Guidelines set forth by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. We have developed policies and procedures to reflect those guidelines set forth by JCAHO, AHCA, and Medicaid. We have also developed and presently are implementing a reporting process to keep our referral sources informed as to the status of their clients. This is done through weekly correspondence and when necessary phone conferences. As you can see by our web site, by providing all the necessary behavioral health services we have the ability to keep the client until completion of his/her treatment obligations are met.
